Kuat 3 Tandem

The Kuat 3 is a paraglider developed for tandem flying. With a combination of 40 g, 36 g and 29 g fabrics, the new project is lighter and easier to launch and pilot.

Take-off was improved through thinner stabilisers, helping inflation and providing greater support in the centre of the canopy.

Flight Characteristics

The Kuat 3 has more precise and direct brake control, giving the pilot a clear connection with the wing. It was designed with ball-bearing brake pulleys for more refined piloting sensitivity.

The Kuat 3 is a tandem paraglider classified LTF/EN B and requires the experience of pilots qualified for tandem flying.

Technologies

The Kuat 3 incorporates SOL's latest technologies and solutions for modern wings, including a more aerodynamic stabiliser, a higher-performance profile with more stability, and increased aspect ratio for a significant performance gain. SOL also works to reduce environmental impact through more sustainable materials, processes and waste reuse.

Technical Data

Available sizes: 35, 38, 41 and 44. The wing has 55 cells in every size. Flat area ranges from 33.95 m² to 40.07 m² and projected area from 29.73 m² to 35.08 m². Flat aspect ratio is 5.38 and projected aspect ratio is 4.12 across all sizes.

The line set uses Cousin 1.0 and 2.1 mm, Cousin 988 2.1 mm and Liros Dyneema PPSLS 1.05, 1.2 and 1.58 mm. Wing weight ranges from 6.9 kg to 8.1 kg. Take-off weight ranges are 110-170 kg, 120-195 kg, 140-212 kg and 150-212 kg. Ideal take-off weights are 130-155 kg, 145-170 kg, 160-185 kg and 175-200 kg.

Certification

Certification information includes open-trimmer and closed-trimmer flight reports, inspection certificate, certification label, line measurements and load test. Certification number for size 41: PG_1973.2022.

Materials

SOL Paragliders has always been known for durable equipment. The Kuat 3 is built with a new line configuration, different fabrics and new hardware. It combines PPSLS lines, among the most modern and durable on the market, for durability, strength and stability while reducing weight and drag.

• Profiles: Pro-Nyl high-tenacity hard-finish nylon, 36 g/m².
