Description

Runner XC - Built for Long Distances

The Runner XC is SOL's paramotor wing for experienced pilots looking for comfort, speed and fuel economy on long-distance or long-duration flights. Its performance is linked to higher speed and comfort on long flights. In thermal conditions, its stable behaviour gives security together with good climbing performance.

The Runner XC is available in seven sizes. For pilots seeking longer flights with comfort and fuel economy, SOL recommends flying up to the middle of the weight range. For pilots who prefer more agility and speed, with higher fuel consumption, SOL recommends flying closer to the upper part of the indicated weight range.

Compared with SOL's other paramotor wings, the Runner XC can be seen as the evolution of the Flexus and Auster GT, aimed at the more ambitious pilot. It is designed for trained pilots with at least 80 hours of experience.

The Runner uses a hybrid 3-4 line configuration, as this arrangement allows full adjustment of profile geometry through trimmer operation.

Certification

Inspection certificates are available for sizes 150, 165, 180, 195, 210, 225 and 240. Certification numbers: 3517, 3518, 3519, 3520, 3521, 3522 and 3523. Load and strength test: CERTIF DGAC RUNNER XC.

Flight Characteristics

  • New construction techniques reduce weight, volume and drag, using Vectran competition lines.
  • Dual brake system for wider, flatter turns or steeper turns with a smaller radius.
  • Risers developed for easy handling.
  • Easy inflation over a short take-off run.
  • Landing with a long flare, helping the final stop and reducing ground impact.
  • Full-reflex technology reduces the likelihood of collapses.
  • Higher speed thanks to reflex technology.

In short, this wing is designed to satisfy the needs of paramotor pilots who want more performance, ease of use and safety.

Piloting Features

The shark-nose intake, also known as PBP, improves canopy aerodynamics and internal pressure over a wide range of angles of attack. The leading edge is reinforced with rods using BT Technology, improving take-off significantly and helping prevent deformation during high-speed flight.

The riser system provides excellent control in accelerated flight. A wider speed range is achieved through the use of speed bar and trimmers.

The Runner XC includes a 2D dual-control brake system. In this layout, the main control has an auxiliary steering line directed to the outer brakes. This allows the pilot to control the wingtip and the centre of the trailing edge differently, or both together, adjusting trailing-edge response to personal preference.

Main lines are sheathed, while upper and gallery lines are unsheathed for higher performance. The combination of different fabrics provides durability, lightness and dimensional stability to the project, creating a well-balanced complete package.

Technologies

  • Constant pressure system, also known as shark-nose intake.
  • Four risers and cross rods.
  • Laser cutting and hybrid materials.
  • Load-distribution tapes and 3D shaping.
  • Mini ribs and flexible rods.
  • Higher projected aspect ratio.
  • Bow Tec and reflex profile.
  • Dual brake system and performance flaps.
  • High-tech materials.

Technical Data

Available sizes: 150, 165, 180, 195, 210, 225 and 240. The wing has 57 cells in every size. Flat area ranges from 15.03 m² to 24.1 m² and projected area from 13.02 m² to 20.9 m². Flat aspect ratio is 6.0 and projected aspect ratio is 4.5 across all sizes.

Wing weight ranges from 3.7 kg to 5.3 kg. Take-off weight ranges from 70-120 kg on size 150 to 110-170 kg on size 240. Suggested XC weights are 75, 85, 97, 109, 123, 136 and 150 kg. Certification is DGAC for all sizes.
