Squad Light Hang Gliding Emergency Parachute

The Squad Light Hang Gliding emergency parachute is an advanced reserve concept. Its completely new second-generation square shape sets new performance standards compared with traditional emergency parachutes.

This project provides a large projected area with stability supported by side valves and geometric balance. It can be used for hang gliding and mini-trikes, and may be installed in the reserve compartment of a compatible harness or in a suitable external container. The riser has a total length of 6 metres.

Compared with Traditional Reserves

• Very low sink rate, around 10-15% lower than the requirement at the weight limit.
• Better pendular stability in all circumstances.
• Opening time 20-30% shorter.
• Approximately 20% lighter and more compact.
• Second-generation design, easier to handle and pack.

Certification

Certified according to LTF 91/09 and EN 12491.

Available models: 32, 35, 38, 42 and 57-Bi. Weights: 1.43 kg, 1.63 kg, 1.78 kg, 1.96 kg and 3.00 kg. Take-off weight ranges: 55-105 kg, 70-120 kg, 85-135 kg, 100-150 kg and 140-230 kg. Areas: 32.00 m², 35.00 m², 38.00 m², 41.00 m² and 57.00 m². Packing volumes: 3.3, 4.1, 5.0, 5.8 and 9 litres.

Maximum-weight sink rate is 5.0 m/s across the range. Certification references include EAPR-RG 0638/17, EAPR-RG 0637/17, EAPR-RG 0621/17, EAPR-RG 0814/18 and EAPR-RG 0789/18.
